Ginger and Ayurveda
This time we are going to share some simple Ayurvedic tips using ginger. Ginger has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties as well as helps your digestion. Arthritis treatment Consume 2-3 slices of peeled fresh ginger with each meal. Treating cough with phlegm Mix 1 teaspoon of dry ginger with half a teaspoon of black pepper powder and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Drink. Improving digestion and relieving cold Add grated ginger into a cup of boiling water. Allow the grated ginger to soak for three minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. Drink. Fighting indigestion Chew a slice of ginger with Himalayan salt. Nausea prevention Chew a few pieces of fresh ginger throughout the day. Relieving headache Add 1 teaspoon of dry ginger powder to a cup of boiling water. Inhale the vapor. Relieving sore throat Mix 2 teaspoons of fresh ginger juice and half a teaspoon of salt into a glass of boiling water. Gargle using this water.Aparna K. BAMS, MD, PhD
