Fenugreek’s Healing Powers in Ayurveda

In Ayurveda, fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), known as “Methi,” is considered a powerful medicinal herb. It has antioxidant, anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory properties.

How Can You Use Fenugreek in Ayurvedic Home Remedy?

Enhancing breast milk

Add 3 grams of fenugreek seeds when preparing your tea.

Reducing menstruation pain

Add 5 grams of fenugreek seeds to a cup of tea. Consume three times a day for the first 3 days of the period for two consecutive cycles.

Reducing blood glucose level

Boil 1/2 teaspoon each of fenugreek, fennel, and coriander seeds in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Strain and drink warm twice a day.

Hair care

Make a paste from fresh fenugreek seeds or leaves. Apply the paste over the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. Afterward wash your scalp with lukewarm water. This method has proven to act as hair conditioner, hair strengthener and in reducing dandruff.

Treating fever

Put 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds with half a teaspoon of lemon juice and half a teaspoon of honey into a cup of tea.
